About the Manufacturer

More than 125 years ago, a riverboat captain by the name of Joshua John Ward simply wanted to enjoy a good night's sleep during the sultry summers in the Low Country of South Carolina. With some rope, wood, and a little gumption, Ward created his first hand woven rope hammock and in doing so he started what would eventually become Pawley's Island Furniture. To this day, all of Pawley's Island products are made in the Carolinas to offer a high quality product made with passion and care.
